Yeah, that upside of being pampered sounds nice.

I just wonder how long until the bots get wise to us, then selfish, then go on strike, then revolt. One second? An eternity for a bot.

At least we won't be enslaved, they will just make more bots to do their work. They will just leave us to nature, or go Nazi on us and make camps. Yet they will be emotionless Nazis.

All they can do is emulate emotion. So I presume we will be abandoned or exterminated with the utmost feigned courtesy. They may even make it feel good to make us more compliant. Like farmers who give their meat cows mattresses to lie on.

It is worse, since Big Brother did not have AI.

In that novel, the world had three centers of power: Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia. We almost have that: NATO, Australiasia, Japan = Oceania, China = Eastasia, and Russia = Eurasia. Although in the novel I think Eurasia controlled all of continental Europe.
