One year we rescued a dog on Boxing day, her owner just laid on the couch to rest after making pies and died. She was a sweet creature. Fortunately she adjusted to our house.

We lost the bigger dog about a month ago the little guy just lays on the couch and whines for her everyday

It can be. Our pets usually have a very strong bond with at least one human family member, or a furry family member. I had two golden retrievers, and when I lost the older of the two, the younger one was never the same.
