@dentope3 Thank you so much for doing that. For years, I've told animal care professionals we're going the wrong way with spaying and neutering; we need to be spaying an neutering the people who are irresponsible with their animals so [b][i]they[/i][/b] don't reproduce like kind. I've never had one disagree.
@PhoenixPhail there are over 60 million feral cats in the lower 48 states. I started feeding one and ended up with a colony. I've trapped them had them spayed or neutered and now have a heated shed to keep them dry and warm in the winter. get a new one show up every once in a while do trap and neuter and have a farmer who takes them to keep rodents out of his barns. I give to the local no kill shelter and my will provides a nice sum to them
@dentope3 Thank you for saving so many lives. Over the years I've taken in, spayed or neutered, inoculated, had surgeries done on so many cats (some dogs, too). It's cost me thousands. The animals seem to see bull's-eyes on my house. Maybe they're picking up on my vibes that I love them.
There is, unfortunately, a backlash to my rescuing, which I hate; it sends a message to those who aren't responsible for their animals, that it's okay for them to do that, because someone else will. I don't know what the answer to the problem is, but I don't think education will do it. Pity. So many animals are put down needlessly just because there's no room for them. It breaks my heart as much as it makes me furious.
all mine are registered with tipped ears. if someone trap one and brings it to the humane society or ARL they call the local no nonsense vet tell them where the cat was trapped they call me and I go pick my guy up
@PhoenixPhail these cats didn't ask to be strays and unless you're taking care of them you don't see how much they appreciate what you do. my profile is Maggie mae. she showed up one day I was able to trap her and when I got her back she turned out to be a sweetheart. she's now mine. did have her tipped in case I couldn't tame her
