Whats a family gathering wout drama?

This thanksgiving I decided to go to my outlaws (my previous in-laws) house, my son’s grandparents thanksgiving. And everything was going fine until I saw how their dad was keeping his poodle dogs.

He breeds them and sells them for money. But they all live in one doghouse, shivering in the freezing windy PA terrain. Their hair is overgrown and they fight all the time. I confronted him about the way his poodle dogs are being forced to live in the freezing cold.

We already don’t get along to begin with. It made me feel so enraged and embarrassed for him. I am calling animal control tomorrow (Monday) so they go and have a look at the situation and hopefully take them away.

But long story short, I stood up for the dogs and my father outlaw got super offended at me telling me I can come back to his house when I learned my place and learned how to behave as a proper woman. 🥹 okie, we will see who needs to learn a thing or two about animal abuse..

I'm on your side in ALL the ways about this. There are rescue organizations for specific breeds, of course, and poodles are often sought as "pets", which is obviously why your despicable former father-in-law is breeding them.

Bless you for calling. I can barely stand to think about what those poodles are going through and how you were treated by your father outlaw just so he can probably benefit from your ex's heartless abuse of them. Breeding already sucks, but he could keep them properly if he was a decent person.
My father outlaw doesn’t like hearing anything that resembles the truth. He likes people to look the other way and let him control everyone.

My ex (his son and also my son’s father) supports me and also hates how the dogs are being treated.

So it’s just the father outlaw.. and I say outlaw because he isn’t my father-in-law anymore. @faery

I affifm your choices to stand up for the dogs.
He says he wants to get rid of them. But who knows when he will do that.

I am going to help make that happen, for everyone’s sake. The dogs most importantly. @SomeMichGuy
@deathfairy GOOD.

"Backyard breeders" are the bane of serious breeders.

Ha! He doesn't know what a proper woman is. Thank you for calling. That's awful and those doggies deserve a better home.
He does not. He really thinks he is a king and that women should bow to him.

The dogs are afraid of him, I have seen him slap one back into their fenced in space.. 😔

His family hates what he is doing but he won’t listen to any of them. @ScreamingFox

Good on you. That sounds awful
It is. One of the dogs came running to the house she was shivering cold and wouldn’t leave my arms while I warmed her up.

She smelled so bad and was shaking for so long. She was tiny.. and he already bred her, she barely looked a year old and was already bred. 💔 @HijabaDabbaDoo

@deathfairy that enrages me
Behave as a proper woman?! I can see what kind of guy this is.
Thank you for standing up for the dogs
🥺 If I don’t do it, they will probably freeze to death.

I have taken videos and photos so I can show the animal control when I contact them.

I needed to come back home and regroup myself and my information before I called anyone. Not just do it emotionally and without thinking it through. @robingoodfellow

Idk, will they?? Find me an organization in PA that won’t kill them. @SW-User
