Buni kept running outside staying out longer than usual when I looked out she was just sitting back there looking towards the house. I went to see and she was sitting next to a bird that was injured. I thought it was dead but it moved. I picked it up and thought great, here we go again. Not my first bird rescue. Someone had shot it. It was suffering. I held it close to my chest while I looked for a box to put it in. It was beautiful. The colors so pretty. As I searched, felt the birds head fall. It died. I’m so proud of my girl though, and the little bird didn’t die alone. I hope it knew we aren’t all bad.
Aww, such a sad but heart warming read. That cute little dog of yours is amazing and so are you for giving that poor bird some comfort at the end of its life.
I hope that b*stard who shot it suffers with terminal insomnia.
