I want to be around animals.

It's time to work towards my future. One thing I know for sure is that I'm tired of people. I can't understand people and they don't understand me.

With animals, there is no fear, just respect. We do understand each other. They don't run from me, they usually approach me. They're curious about me. When I speak to them, I recognize my own voice.

With animals I find the harmony and softness I can't find or create with humans.

I don't relate to humans anymore. I don't dislike people, there are people I've met that I can relate to and enjoy, but there's always a discomfort, always judgements and assumptions. It's just not me, and not who I'll ever be.

Looking at the zoos, aquariums and bioparks out west, some I've been to, that's where I want to put my heart. With our sacred brothers and sisters in nature.

I've been feeling kinda like that myself. The only things I seem to be able to relate to and depend on for consistent unconditional love are my dogs. No words are needed. Just a look or a glance and we understand each other completely. I love going to the wildlife preserve to see nature in action as well. I feel part of it. I love people but everyone seems to have an agenda and worth is measured on how much one helps with the agenda.

I wonder about a reputable NFP animal rescue or sanctuary?

I don't know how well it would pay, but your gentleness is perfect for animals that have been mistreated.

And then maybe doing some side contract thing (that you genuinely enjoy, maybe art-related?) that you have have firmer boundaries with how much you interact with people.

Generally the folk (vendors) at markets and art things too, are more gentle, even if you do have to deal with them.

Just a thought!! I hope you find what you're looking for. You deserve it.

She's good! Getting pretty sassy 🤣🤣 she likes to grab my fingers and hand skin and does like a head shaking thing like dogs do 🤣🤣 I guess pigeons like to play

Sounds like a great idea. I know it’s not strictly animals but any interest in joining the National Park Service? Many sites in Arizona and New Mexico.

@OlderSometimesWiser I would definitely be into that too. I have a little background in law enforcement too, so there's a lot to look into once we live somewhere with actual opportunities.
