(The Images are not AI generated but real pictures)

Horse breed : Akhal Teke

Origin: Turkmenistan

The Akhal Teke is a horse breed autochthonous to the country of Turkmenistan and are thought to be one of the oldest existing horse breeds.

They have a reputation for endurance, speed and intelligence. They have thin manes and are well known for their distinctive metallic sheen.

The shiny coat of the Akhal Teke led to their being nicknamed "Golden Horses". The metallic sheen is not a color gene, but due to the structure of the hair shaft that affects how light reflects off the coat, which scatters light, thus creating a shimmering, golden appearance. While the metallic sheen is a characteristic trait of the breed, it is not present in all Akhal Tekes; their colors vary in bays, duns, blacks, and chestnuts. Akhal Teke horses vary in colors: Brown, black, grey, cream, white and yellow. The metallic sheen, which in duns may produce an unusual golden effect, is most noticeable in horses with lighter coat colors.

They are well adapted to severe climatic conditions and can go long distances without much water and food. It is believed that its unique coat provided camouflage in the desert where the breed originated. Today, Akhal Teke horses are found in Turkmenistan and Russia, with smaller populations in Europe, North America, Uruguay, and Australia. This special breed of horse is considered a national treasure in Turkmenistan and has laws to protect it.

So majestic and stunning, Akhal Teke horses look ethereal, like something straight out of a fairytale book, together with shimmering unicorns and winged horses.
