@DarinaCC Darina, is there something wrong with honoring parents, not stealing, not killing, not committing adultery, not coveting what others have, not gossiping, not being selfish, jealous .....doing good to others, feeding the poor, clothing the naked, bearing others burdens?.....just to name a few....

The real matter about that book written thousands of years ago is WHO wrote it? If men moved by the Spirit of God wrote what He inspired, then its a book from the Creator to the created, a living manual.

Adultery does mentioned in Bible. The reason why we think Bible is not reliable is that because we discovered a lot of things that contradict whatever Bible says like earth was made in 7 days, earth is younger than actually it is, no mention of dinosaurs or solar system. I didn't forget to mention anything, my friend. The fact is that slavery, violence and women being discriminated against does not invalidate the bible. And I think you would find that slavery, violence and women being discriminated against is still happening in 2019.

There are no contradictory statements in the bible. Pulling scripture our of context is what people do to get those "contradictions."

How old the earth is a rabbit trail people take to get around having to deal with the cross. Whether its 6,000 years old or 6 million years old matters not, nor will any excuses people use to avoid who Christ is.

No one will be able to point to bad Christians, evoluntionary science, the internet and its countless number of "historical" experts.....my friend, I care so much about you getting this right. Can we get an ongoing thread of conversation going to talk through this? You can't get this wrong and you can't rely on what you want your reality to be. And you sure can't rely on the "facts" you think you are getting from non believers who seek to pull you down with them. @JBird JBird, with all due respect, and I do respect you, you made two assertions about me that were wrong (I do not have a phone at all and I am not in the least afraid of science), and you went right to that rabbit hole I mentioned even though I didn't contest the age of the earth....My friend, if you can make wrong assumptions concerning things you don't know about myself, how much more an error in assumption can you make concerning the only life Savor you will ever have thrown to you for salvation? That statement isn't meant to belittle your intelligence, but it is meant to get you to reconsider those you hang your ultimate trust on.

You have heard that the empty can rattles the most, correct? Science is made up of a body of people who both validate and invalidate the Creator. A world that doesn't want Christ seeks out those who speak what they want to hear. But be assured science is not without its believers who marvel at the complexity of the world around them both in purpose and in order.....just the same, using the empty can analogy, a world that doesn't want Christ will always hear the horror stories that go on daily concerning people considered to be of God. Sadly, it's those of faith who quietly go about doing the work of God behind the scenes that no one even notices. In that vein, yes, what is done in the name of God out there that ends up on the news is indeed disgraceful....but JBird, it does speak to the world of sin that grips us all and the urgent need of a Savior before Justice is meted out.

In fact, talking , to you I feel more content about myself because I am not the idiot who believes in old age traditions and unaware of what's happening with the world. I mean what if someone written Bible as a joke and a whole people like you actually fell for it even after thousands of years, still seeing everything as sin and self loathing.

As for the Jews, the story happened thousands of years ago. There can be any reason why Jews wanted Jesus to die. We don't know. He was helping poor and needy and got followers. Jews may not liked people following him. A valid reason.

Why are they still living happily? Also you talk about salvation. Where's the proof that people get salvation after death?

@JBird JBird, I'll move on as you wish. I'm not sure that I attacked you personally in any way to prompt your attacking me. If I did some how, then I extend to you my sincere apologies. I only desired a civil discussion and accept that we strongly agree to disagree. ....just to leave you with the only answer that is pertinent to the discussion....The Jews sought to kill Jesus for His claim to be God, as they considered it blasphemy. It was they who were well studied in the scriptures that prophecied of Him, thus they should have known who He was but they refused to see that because they loved their stature amongst the people. Thus Jesus was a threat to them.

Oh no, you're mistaken, I didn't attack you. I was telling you the reasons I don't believe in Bible when you kept on pressing me to believe in it. If you feel threatened by it, I am terribly sorry. I understand that everyone have different opinions on religion and God. I also believe that no one have the right to force their beliefs on another person as a common courtesy. I was merely expressing my idea of God. I never asked anyone rudely to follow my belief. It's no use trying to do it when they are comfortable with their own way and find a lot of flaws in your religion. I didn't plan to indicate the flaws in your religions. But when you foolishly dismissed the credibility of science when you are using it, I had no choice. I hope you understand my message. Good day.

@ANewCovenant but I must appreciate your patience and your civilised manner even when I criticized your religion. I faced same objection from Indian Hindus when I told them I was agnostic. Unlike you, they used abusive language and threats towards.

Just know that believing what I know in my heart to be true, I could never speak evil against you because I care so much about you.
