Yes, when I was at college I did come across something else researched and verified. If you teach a rat a maze (say to get to food) when its drunk, it doesnt remember it when its sober, but it does remember it when its drunk again - sio yes it is a "restriction to the ability to encode non-reward" so you can "drink to forget" but yiu will remember again when you are sober. So overall, nothing more that a sticking plaster.
