Alcohol treatment process

Has anyone on here gone through treatment. Have a girl of a deceased friend who took a lyft here, age 31 who is severely alcoholic. Inemployed, no insurance, no money and needs help. Treatment centers don't exist if you don't have money. So what's the process? No medication here. Just ween them off or stop cold turkey? She has tremors and can have seizures if she doesnt drink. Got some hot chocolate and vitamins in her but that's it so far. I put the bottle of vodka she brought out of reach and the last time she begged for a shot i watered it down half way. She downed the first bottle in a day. Found the empty. No idea she brought anything.

If she is having seizures from not drinking, DO NOT go cold turkry. If money is an issue, some rehab facilites will offer "scholarships". Just be sure to inqire at treatment facilities that are PATIENT based (they are under the guidance of a hospital and a doctor oversees the program) The Salvation Army has a free program and thwre is always AA. All the pleading, bargaining and threats will only break you down. She has to decide she is ready to seek help. A drowning man must first decide he wants to save himself, before he can be saved There is help. Hang in there.

@Tastyfrzz it is a HUGE and brave first step...my hope is she realizes how truly strong and remarkable she is...I wish more than anything that she finds peace, acceptance and happiness in her bew found sobriety.
