I Am An Alcoholic

I have been sober for 7 days and 22 hours now...today, at this moment I am having one of my most strongest urges to go get a drink.. For those of You that understand, Can you please give me some encouragement to stay strong at this moment?

I know it's something you probably hear people say all the time, but just take it day by day. Get through today, that;s all you can do. I haven't had a drink in almost a year and a half, and no tobacco for about 3 years. You can do it, just don't give in. You;re doing it at the smart time -- I waited until I was 65 or so to start cleaning up my act. :(

@Hecate Good luck and be strong. It gets better and better -- and I'm amazed when I stop and think just how much money I save in a year without buying vodka or cigars! ;)
