19 months sober, but

@Notsimilarreally Drinking took me away from my kids on so many occasions. Time wasted in the bottle when I could've been spending it with them.

The nearly 8 years I was sober I tried so hard to make up for it, but a lot of damage had been done. My last round of drinking started a downward spiral that I wouldn't have recovered from.

@Spumoni it's a shitty cycle. Hopefully they understand and don't hold it against you.

@Notsimilarreally They have been very supportive. I'm grateful to have them back in my life.

I feel somewhat delusional in that all of these months, in addition to my sobriety and wellness, I was proud of each month under my belt. While that's an achievement, the day I decided to stop is so much more important.
