Small goals is a good way to start. Something that you can practically finish at the moment. So you need to look for your purpose at the moment. For eg. 'getting out of debt'. Now you lay out a mind map of possibilities. Eg 'making and selling' or 'job'. Lay out your skill set. Meanwhile, you could enroll for a food stamp program till you're more stable. Or disabilities while you get yourself together.
Now for 'job', you could break that down to 'applications', 'my contacts' and 'contact building'. While you build contacts, do volunteer work/internship for a predetermined duration to help with your CV, and make contacts there to refer you to other employers. Meanwhile reach out to any contacts you already have and ask what they have to offer. You have nothing to lose.
You could even break those goals down further.
Celebrate each achievement with a little something in budget. Maybe a Donut. Or a thrift store haul. Whatever helps with your dopamine.
Starting is extremely hard. But it's very very possible!!!
