My sobriety struggles
Recently I posted about struggling with sobriety. I nearly stumbledin the last couple of days, I was actually in my car ready to go to the liquor store.
Instead I took a few hours at my local park to have a conversation with myself. Yes, I talked to myself. The reasons why I chose sobriety last April are numerous and I had to go over each one again, focusing specifically on my well being.
Afterward, I met both of my adult kids for dinner and we had some deep discussions. I felt great after that. My kids had smiles on their faces, some tears but good tears.
Today I had a conversation on SW with a friend who dropped a message to me to check up. I'm grateful for that.
There's something to be said about anyone who can turn their life around, no matter how big or small the change. Life's challenges keep me busy but it's a good kind of busy.
