409 days Sober

The last two days I looked back on the time I was drinking heavily and trying to understand how on earth I could justify doing it. Many, many times I told myself I had a valid reason to drink. After all is said and done, my own delusional thought process madeit "ok" on my mind.

That's no way to live.

Trudging forward....
This is the best thing I’ve read ALL morning! You are an amazing person and I am so proud to know you!

@Pinkstarburst Thank you!
@Pinkstarburst

I second that …. 🌹🤗
Attaboy! You're right. There's no good reason or good result from climbing into the bottle. It's an illusion, and a dangerous one.

I'm proud of you.

A part of the illness of addiction is the chance of slipping. Understand that your "thought process" is a very common part of anyone with actual addiction issues.
There are numerous methods to resist the urges including having a mentor or hopefully another trusted friend who will support you prior to making the actual drinking. I firmly believe that why AA can be a support and help, the only true higher power is Jesus Christ.
In the 20 + years I have been working with addicts, the overall best success if from those who will open up to the possibility that God through his Son works.
Prayers that you can continue to work on your issues and come to a place in your life where you will no longer have the real urges.

Congratulations!

I know what you mean by delusional thinking!

It's amazing to experience the world directly, instead of through the filter of an addiction.

One day at a time!
