Today marks 1 year of my sobriety. The last two weeks have been an emotional roller coaster as my mind has been replaying every event from last April.
The evening of April 13th, 2023 I needed to make a change for myself. A change for the better. This would be a test.
The following day my wife dropped the bomb on me that she wanted a divorce. Now I had two major obstacles hitting me and this, in my mind, would be the end of me.
Three moments of falling into a deep darkness, but here I am today.

Congratulations on the one year chip! When my son was in recovery they had cake at meetings for anyone celebrating an anniversary, so reaching that mark was known as “taking a cake”.
