Why the frak are people in movies always cutting themselves on their palms when they need blood? Like don't they think they might need their hands?

Also just bunch your nose and make it bleed!

Also, why aren't their more bloody noses in movies? That's more realized than losing a leg but you see losing a leg a lot more often.
