He was an 5th century commoner who migrated from north Germany to Britannia once the Romans left and created a kingdom called Lindsey for himself partly through battle but also by uniting Britons under his rule. His kingdom would become a part Mercia and later England. He used to be believed to be a myth until evidence was found to confirm he existed in the 1950s.
