We’re evolved from highly territorial, omnivorous apes. Of course we aren’t a peaceful society.
We make a good go of it, but it’s not a natural state for us.

Yeah but you go back far enough and we evolved from fish. We don't breathe water anymore, and most of us don't just indiscriminately eat whatever happens to be in front of us. Change is possible.
