Not certain where this goes

I was notified that a former supervisor and coworker (in another setting) passed away this weekend.
I had a tremendous amount of respect for his work. He worked in a field he loved for 50 years.

I had not talked to this person in many years. I moved to a different city and left that career path.
He influenced my way thinking about how I did my job.

I was fortunate to have known the man.
