Introducing myself

I am a very old lady, positively decrepit in fact. I am past retirement age and my last place of work - a college - has let me go. I can't say I blame them, really as my ideas and attitudes do not fit in with the current trends.
My name is Amanda, although most people call me Mrs Mitchell. A few call me Mandy and the students called me 'Miss' - at least to my face.

Ah, reinforcements if you truly are that age. Welcome! So how does someone who prefers pen to computer and feels she is out of tune with current trends wind up on SW?

@MandyMitchell Perhaps you are a newbie to social media and this site if you really have to ask that question. While most of those who misrepresent themselves online opt to pretend to be younger, there are those who opt to appear much older as well for a multitude of reasons. Nothing is necessarily as it appears online or social media platforms wouldn't struggle so much with verifying the basic characteristics of posters.
