I just pruned my friends list, removing deleted accounts and anyone not active for more than a year. And I was surprised

I don't always comment or reply. Yet because I viewed the forums I will usually like something. Which will bring them back into my feed.

Heck this site will only show one post of any given user at a time in the feeds. Keep on refreshing you'll see another post after you viewed the previous you'll see another form hours before. You have to at least view the whole post. Only then the next will come up.

I was digging thru my friend list, there were all these names that used to be so active but then I go to their profile and they haven't been around for a while.

For what we see or not, I think all these "friend" lists, settings, etc are just there for show cause yeah the SW algorithm decides what we normally see.

I wonder how many deleted me as their friend when I was on a break.

Yeah I noticed that all the time. I'll be like "I wonder what happened to _____" then it turns out they were here this whole time 🤷 SW just doesn't show them to me
