Skill of Sea Container Lift Operators

This is Fremantle Port container yard.
All day long 40' and 20' sea containers are loaded and unloaded.
This video is of empty sea containers being off-loaded and stored, 7 high.
Watching this operation it is obvious the experience these operators have.
Millimeter accuracy is a prerequisite for this position.

I have had to flip one of those containers upright. With a frontend loader. Very tricky with a loader. Push it too hard it rolls away from you.

I've seen that happen by guy with more experience than myself.

@DeWayfarer Good job. It could have gone over again.

@Gusman it did with the more experienced person. 🤷🏻‍♂

@Gusman I must add that impressed the driver that tipped the container in the first place. And likely was the reason why I got the Rover position.

As a Rover with five years experience I was considered a lead without the pay grade. Also gave me my operator II title.

The driver had 30 years experience.
