Success Is Lonely — Nobody Talks About That

We talk about the grind.
We celebrate the wins.
We admire the promotions, the titles, the visible progress.

But no one really talks about the loneliness that sometimes comes with growth.

When you level up, not everyone comes with you.
Some feel intimidated.
Some feel distant.
Some just don’t understand the new responsibilities you carry.

Sometimes success costs comfort.

Have you ever felt isolated while achieving something big?
Did it change your circle — or your perspective?

Absolutely. Because my interests and goals were so outside the box of the "Norm" especially in high school, I was sort of outcast. Even at work today. I had a goal to work a specific field and paid my dues to get to where I am today. But yes, it's lonely. After people realized what the goal was, they fought to take it from me. And because they let the opportunity pass ..... I've been snubbed.

It's ok though. I've gotten used to being by myself and have found my peace.

@LaLumieri Absolutely, I completely respect that and your boundaries.

I’ve enjoyed our conversation too and look forward to continuing with you.

@Abovelimit thank you for respecting me. I also have enjoyed your deep and meaningful questions. Your topics as well as the writing are eloquently expressed. I look forward to more.

@LaLumieri maybe sneak in a witty remark or two so it’s not all serious. 😏

Looking forward to more of our thoughtful—and occasionally mischievous—chats!.....just kidding

Yes, some people resent it - or think that I am "lucky" and I don't understand their plight (excuses). Meanwhile I've shown up and worked hard every day for years...while they skip work, leave early and complain about every little thing.

I don't feel lonely though - I enjoy the challenge, even now.

Success came with two big moves in location a few years apart. Lots of liss with that kind of step each time. Some in my newer circle here couldn't sit well with it vs their situation. I celebrated their wins but was often alone when more came for me.

Yes. You're having the wrong perspective though.

Do something for just your own the achievement of it. You don't need the celebrity of it to recognize your own abilities.
