Now that's what I'm talking about: the spark-gap transmitter! No batteries required. Looks exactly like one my friends had. They knew someone called when they were out because they came home and found the tv on 😅

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP The "clicker," aptly named for the clicking sound the buttons made when pushed.

It operated with tuning forks that emitted a frequency which was inaudible to the human ear.
@Sidewinder oh that's the technology! I assumed it was the sparking bell mechanism that would turn the tv on. I remember around the same time there was this toy remote control vehicle that used similar technology which I assumed was spark-gap. I guess it wZ also ultrasonic 🤔
