I would sort of disagree as to treatment of sickness. Up until about 75 years ago, we really did not have what i can term as treatment. The discovery of penicillin ushered in a new era in medicine. Today, we have treatments that were only science fiction 50-75 years ago. When I was in medical school 60 years ago, if you knew 4-5 medications you could practice medicine, that number is tens of times exceeded today. The shame is, that many people in medicine have lost the interpersonal skills, the empathy to make the sick person feel that they are in knowing and caring hands.
