I Love Reading Books

I am an avid reader, but since my eyesight started failing several years ago, I've not read as much as I used to. Once the cataracts were removed and my sight got better, I had already been listening to audiobooks for a few years. Then someone mentioned e-books. And that's been great. I'm reading quite a lot again. Still not as much as I used to, but about three books a week.

Today, for the first time since my vision began to fail, and I got my sight back, I read a whole book in one afternoon. This is an unpudownable book. It's the first in a series, and I can't wait to get the next.

If you like reading mystery and suspense stories, I highly recommend this one.

A Roy Ballard Mystery by Ben Rehder.

BookBub is a wonderful site/app
They have a lot of books at real bargain prices and a lot that are free. Check it out.

They have new specials every day. I get the notices sent to in my email.
I'll check it out, too. Losing my eyesight is probably my greatest personal fear. Not being able to read would, I think, feel like dying. I am so very glad for you.

I've had eye surgery that makes it hard for me to read paper books. I have a kindle that I can adjust the text size, which makes it easier to read. However, I love audiobooks. A good narration is better than any movie they could make from a book.

@Mamapolo2016 I know. I'd had some previous conversations with her......if you could call them that.

Here's a sample....not word for word, but close enough.

Me...Do you have a job, Lisa?
Her...No
Me...Are you still in school?
Her....No
Me...Are you looking for a job?
Her....No
Me....What do you do to stay busy?
Her....My nails.
Me...What about after they're done?
Her...I tan
Me...What about in the winter?
Her....I go to the tanning salon.
Me...So, your nails and tanning must take up about three hours a week. What do you do the rest of the time?
Her....Nothing.
Me....Do you like reading?

And that's when she said that about nobody writing anything worth reading.

You see why I didn't bother going any further with that?

BTW. My friend's son didn't date her for long. He decided he needed someone to talk to after sex.

@Serenitree Thank you. I took some other advice from you and cooked the chicken breast, chopped it up with avocado,in one container, in the other, sliced up cucumber. I divided sliced tomatoes between the two. With the cucumber, I added pumpkin seeds and used a red wine vinaigrette; and in the other I let the chicken's seasoning carry the dish. Turned out perfectly, thank you for that suggestion as well. 😁

@bijouxbroussard I'm so glad you enjoyed that. I just got a warm fuzzy tingle right up my spine. 😃
