I Am a Diabetic On An Insulin Pump

When I was little I had four injections a day. I did them myself once I started school. When I was 13 I had my first insulin pump. It gives me tiny bits of insulin every three minutes. And when I eat I test my blood glucose and tell my pump how many grams of carb and it calculates a dose of insulin and blu tooth’s the pump to give it. I just changed the line that goes from the pump to my body and the cannula which goes into my body.

I found out I was type two a year ago. I inject 28 milliliter of insulin in the evening.
I am guessing you must use more.

Actually I have no idea how much insulin I’m getting. The pump works it out. I test my blood glucose about 12 times a day. I tell it how much carb. I tell it if I’m swimming or cycling or if I’m premenstrual. And it calculates how much insulin I need and tells the pump and it gets pumped in! Do you have to test your blood? @Pfuzylogic

I test my blood twice, after dinner and when I wake up. Right now my blood sugar is at 130 after fasting and I80 after dinner.

I wish you well. Keep being careful. I know that keeping your blood glucose right stops you having loads of complication like losing your eyesight. @Pfuzylogic

Last year I was at 460 and uncontrolled.
I am doing so much better now!

I am so pleased to hear that. We have to keep at it 24/7 365/365. No holidays. But a quality of life. And the plus side we eat well. And apart from diabetes we are healthy. @Pfuzylogic

It has been a while for me. I had to find something hardened though so I could crack it open! One I fed I can’t describe the taste of the juice. It was so refreshing. 😊
