Do you know how to use a radiant heating element? I suspect you are using it wrong. It's not designed to heat an entire room.

@CaptainKirk Well, you need to sit close to it and the heating element will instantly warm you, but only for as long as it's on and you stay near it. Using it any other way constitutes malpractice.

@CaptainKirk Do it by rubbing two sticks together. That way you will get warm before the fire even starts.
