International Women's Day?

Is this a new thing, or have I just been oblivious for the past however long this has been happening? Also, do I get anything, like a free taco or something, or is it just another feel good fake holiday that doesn't really do anything?

Because if I've been missing out on free tacos this whole time, I'm gonna real disappointed!

It's been around a long time, 1909 under the title of called "National Woman's Day" in NYC. Soon becoming international when more places did it in the following years.

But it was started as a socialist and/or communist political women's movement, which haven't exactly been popular in the U.S. Though it became a non-work day in the Soviet Union, and mainly celebrated in communist countries.

Sounds like in 1967s, it sort of transitioned from a political movement with feminist ties, to more specific a feminist movement (and less about socialism/communism but still very strong connects to it).

Red = Official Holiday
Orange= Official Holiday for Women only
Yellow = Non-offical Holiday
Everywhere else, it's a named day
