Yes , i still live with my mom, and i do work; but where i live, its a 4 and a half rooms, and its only 530-ish canadian dollars... Normally a 4 1/2 goes for 700-800 $.
We live in a 'cooperative'. Its an appartments building that its less expensive than normal appartments , but we have to engage ourselves in some tasks sometimes. So we just have to engage ourselves in the coop, but we are blessed with very low cost of renting.
thats why its hard for us to move out. i lived at this place since i was a kid.
