why is it so hard to find real, true love these days?

SkeetSkeet · 100+, F Best Comment
Because everyone is a lying hoebag

@SkeetSkeet haha 😂

JupiterDreams · 31-35
Because people are looking for a fantasy. Like what they see in the movies...
@JupiterDreams Best answer I read!
astrogxrl · 22-25, F
@JupiterDreams Exactly! It's like they don't wanna face the problems that normal relationships actually have
@astrogxrl @JupiterDreams IDK... I mean I kind of woke up and realized that that twin flame shit was a fantasy and that everyone was broken/flawed in some capacity and that really the calling of love was to find a way to accept them anyways.

Bae is paranoid as fuck... All kinds of things I cannot have because she paranoid too...

perfection isn't out there, even the kind of perfect "For me and me only." perfection..

just have to find a way to love and accept them in spite of it all.

The great wealth of twenty-first century civilizations makes independence too easy and the need for locomotion makes us too transient.

Cuz lots of people are shallow and fake these days

This is the Emotional Dark Age. We're all being funneled into being superficial with each other. Critical thinking and expressing who we really are, isn't promoted. Our being too bright might get in the way of the people running the planet and who are making decisions on our lives. There's a constant dumbing-down process, not only of our thinking, but of our feelings.

Everyone's so stuck up and self centered these days, we forgot how to compromise and to be considerate, we also lack communication skills
Why does it seem like everyone wants love but its so elusive? Somebody is lying. 😅

@DarlingSelah Elusive like?
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
Probably the same reason it's hard to find real and honest people.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
I don't think it is harder than it was when I was 20. I think that what might have changed is that people might be less willing to stick with a relationship that isn't working because there is less stigma and not such a great financial problem associated with breaking up.
Nanori · F
@ninalanyon idk if it's movies showing the old times like that or was it not that things were much easier and people much friendlier
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Nanori People always romanticize the past. The idea that things were going to the dogs is something that the ancient Greeks were familiar with.
Of course some things go around and around but at different rates in different places. My native country seems to be in a period where no on trusts anyone at the moment but when I was growing up it seemed like a wonderful place. I realized after I left my home town that I mistook my small part of the country as being representative of the whole. In fact it wasn't, it was just a good place at that time, with luck perhaps it will be better again. I'm lucky enough to be living in another good place now that is unequivocally better than it was 35 years ago.

Perhaps this isn't directly relevant to finding true love, but perhaps that goes in cycles too.

It’s not.. it’s just circumstances effect a lot of things.. and timing.. timing can make it feel like she’s before you meet anyone even worthy of your love.. and then even if you meet them doesn’t mean circumstances are still simple.. but you will have love for them.. I guarantee it..
The truth is a good relationship takes work to stay good. People don’t want to work to keep the fire going. They compare their S/O to make believe movies on tv...
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
@Bklynbadboy12 It really is. One has to keep the fire burning.
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
@NoGamesTolerated that's true but also people have to be honest with themselves about what they want and what there willing to do to get it
Because a real true love requires two components, a personality to fall in love with, and looks to fall in love with. Unfortunately finding someone who has both is incredibly hard.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Because you are looking for love in all the wrong places...
Bklynbadboy12 · 31-35, M
Because everybody is fake nobody is real.
People can't even have friends anymore.
To find real love, you need a real person
Nobody00 · F
Ego is at all-time high these days.
