why is it so hard to find real, true love these days?

I don't think it is harder than it was when I was 20. I think that what might have changed is that people might be less willing to stick with a relationship that isn't working because there is less stigma and not such a great financial problem associated with breaking up.

@ninalanyon idk if it's movies showing the old times like that or was it not that things were much easier and people much friendlier

@Nanori People always romanticize the past. The idea that things were going to the dogs is something that the ancient Greeks were familiar with.
Of course some things go around and around but at different rates in different places. My native country seems to be in a period where no on trusts anyone at the moment but when I was growing up it seemed like a wonderful place. I realized after I left my home town that I mistook my small part of the country as being representative of the whole. In fact it wasn't, it was just a good place at that time, with luck perhaps it will be better again. I'm lucky enough to be living in another good place now that is unequivocally better than it was 35 years ago.

Perhaps this isn't directly relevant to finding true love, but perhaps that goes in cycles too.
