I Am Working On My Mental, emotional And Physical Health
I wish we could ALL say that complete sentence. A friend of mine just called me this morning to see if I needed anything at the grocery store. She is so good, and so kind to me.
The horror story she told me was terrifying.
She went to Shaws in Pembroke, Massachusetts, at 7:30 this morning, and that was the minute they opened.
Her daughter went to get something in another aisle, and she told her mother, "Mom, it's like a riot in that aisle!" She told her mother she couldn't even get INTO the aisle because it was so crowded, and that the people were acting really crazy.
She told her Mom that people were not even looking at the things they were grabbing off the shelves...they were just grabbing and throwing things into their carts without looking.
To me, that sounds VERY messed up...VERY crazy...and it appears to be full blown panic behavior.
By the time her daughter was able to get into the special foods aisle, ALL the gluten free products had been cleaned off the shelves. My friend said that the shelves all over the store were empty.
My friend told me that even though they arrived the minute the store opened, they had to wait in line for 30 minutes to get to the cashier.
I think that governors in every state should send out directives to every single grocery store manager everywhere with suggestions on how to preserve calm and how to provide food and staples to everyone who needs food.
