Wrong place to ask for help and advice?

I get everyone here are strangers. But I thought this site started as a help site? Is it not that now? Please elaborate if you can thanks.

It seems as though it's devolved into a site where one is ridiculed for a simple difference of opinion. I think that the influx of people from Yahoo Answers did this site no favors. Yes, they gained new members, but the quality has sure dipped.

@Bri89 Well I came from YA and feel like I have something to contribute. But I understand what you are saying.

@twiigss Oh yes, I understand. I did not mean to paint all Yahoo Answers users as the same. I was there from 2007 until about 2014 when the layout changed. I actually started here less than a month ago, but from what I hear the site that this site came from, the Experience Project is much different and was more helpful.

@Bri89 Yea you won't get good help from YA. Never heard of Experience Project until I came here.

@Bri89 No, this site dipped into very low level long before Yahoo members joined. They have nothing to do with it.
