I Believe In The Beauty Of Imperfection

Ever heard of beaty standard in Korea which is smaller head? Like this? I tried it....weird, why is it desirable size? And I always considered my face pretty big tbh since I am kinda on the bigger side. It makes me wonder what makes it desirable trait. I read that people are obssessed with it over there. What are your thoughts on this? Also V shaped face. Super big eyes. Do you think they are overdoing it?

It's a desirable trait in Korea because childlike-ness and smallness in SE Asian countries is the beauty standard. In my opinion this is because the men themselves are often small in stature and want to feel big. Think bound feet, small heads, pigtails, lolita fashion, crooked teeth, big eyes... All childlike qualities.

Yeah of course but foot binding was done in China and that was because it imprinted that the girl didn't need to work. Since she barely could walk so that was about social status. Pigtails/lolita fashion was because japanese were into western culture ( just look at gyaru fashion which was kinda like a rebelion against traditionally viewed beaty standard-exact opposite) crooked teeth are considered as something very youthful looking. But not as in a child-like point of view. And big eyes are again...from us westerners (just look at double eye-lids) But the size of head has not such a rational explanation. Like yeah cuteness and everything but that should go according to Japan. Not Korea....

China is in SE Asia. Lolita fashion may be inspired by Western culture but that would be children's fashion worn by adults. Then there's also the voices made to sound overly cute, then there's the obsession with schoolgirls and schoolgirl outfits. There's definitely a glorification of childlike qualities in South East Asia.

There's been loads written on it. Hugely prevalent in Japan but also elsewhere, this weird obsession with youth.

@Magnolia: That's ok I don't want to get into argument but this goes especially to Japan. With this overall cuteness. But I think that only Korea is so obssessed with this head size trait and V shaped face... .

@Magnolia:Yeah yeah I understand cuteness overall there ...but still my original statement was about head size and with V shaped face which I believe is ... main beaty standard in Korea only.

I wasn't getting into an argument with you. You asked what it was about and I was giving a possible explanation... If you don't want people to respond then maybe you shouldn't ask 😕

@Magnolia: I know you weren't just saying that I don't want to get into argument :) Since we know how some people can be on the internet... ^^ And sorry I just wanted to get to the core of the problem of this topic. ;)
