I Wish People Were Kinder To Each Other
I work in a pharmacy as a tech. People are always saying how young people never respect other people, mainly their elders. Well from my 18 years of experience in working with the public I can certainly tell you it's the elderly that does not have the respect for other people. In the last 3 days, we've had at least one episode when a senior citizen got rude and nasty with us. The one guy actually threw a clipboard at my co worker because the government is requiring them to fill out forms. Today an older woman got rude and an attitude when we asked her to fill out the same forms.
You may be saying of course you'll face those kind of problems at a pharmacy because the majority of customers are older people, right? Well I've worked other positions with the public and a majority of the problems I've had with people have been the elderly. Don't get me wrong, there are some sweet, nice and adoring elderly people that we look forward to waiting on. And there are some from the smart mouthed younger generation as well. But I've witnessed more manners and respectful behavior from younger people, and I mean even teens in some instances, then I do from senior citizens.
