I Treat People Better Than They Treat Me

I try to give everyone the love, affection, and attention I believe they and I deserve.
And what have I gotten in back?
I've been abused, lied to, cheated on, manipulated, and have been put down too many times to count.
I understand everyone has to look put for themselves, but where's the humanity? Where do people get off on treating others so much less than what they think they deserve?
I don't believe in that nonsense of me coming first above others. I want to enhance other people's lives, not just my own. Everyone deseveres to be treated with love, respect, and kindness. I wish more people could see that.

Your thoughts are very similiar to mine..I am sorry for all bad things that happened to you and jerks you had to deal with *hugs* I think people are becoming more and more cruel because others are encouraging them and it is being normalised 😔
"triggered,it is just a joke,*makes unnecessary comments of people's lives*,you offended lol,she played with that loser,they deserved it"
also disturbing and offensive jokes about abuse/rape/mental and physical illnesses/suicide/bullying etc. etc.

I know right? It's so awful that when people make other people uncomfortable it's now a joke and they need to lighten up. I'm sorry that your rape joke offends me, but have you been raped before? Were you crying, counting down the seconds until it ended? Did you feel dirty and used after that? No? Then you have no right telling me how to feel about a joke that directly attacks me and my experiences. So me people are just awful.
