I Care About Personality Not Looks

I find this to be so true.

Anyone who lives a life of integrity and practices generosity is very attractive. I can’t think of a single example where I have to tolerate unattractive physical features when in the presence of someone who has those qualities.

True. I've seen some hideously ugly people who fool others with a pleasing facade, and others with a more humble appearance who are glorious.

@AbbeyRhode That's been my experience, as well. I would [i]much[/i] rather be with someone who isn't physically good looking who has a heart of gold, than someone who's physically gorgeous, but who has a heart of stone. Eye candy is just empty calories. There's nothing nutritious there, at all.

I would not have believed this when I was younger. (There was a LOT about life and about myself that I did not understand when I was younger.) But I wholeheartedly agree now.

So true. Even as a young woman, I didn’t care at all about outer appearance. Humor, kindness, intellect...those are a far greater draw for me.

@Happymedium Yes, they can. But you know, I have a soft spot in my heart for those people. I don't necessarily want to hang around with them, but I know their know-it-all-ism is born of some belief they have about themselves, probably originating from some kind of abuse - being devalued somehow. So, I try to see the person behind the curtain.
