I Am Disabled

My pancreas doesn’t work. I wear a pump. It pumps insulin into me every three minutes. But I have to test my blood glucose about twelve times a day. And tell my pump how much grams of carbohydrate I am about to consume. And tell it if I am about to swim or just been swimming. If I am premenstrual. It needs to know everything! It’s a hidden disability.

Not all disabilities are visible. I’m right there with you! Hypoglycemic, hip dysplasia, and arthritis. Thank goodness for my service dog for my sugar

Thank you. My body is covered with sensors. A dog may do it better. My friend at school would want one!

I love that your dog can help you! I am really skating on the thin ice between ok and hypo. My sensor is red line a lot. @Soramarie
