I Love Railways

I love the pic that goes with this group. Western something. Those engines were so powerful. Now we have class 66. EWS engines. Sometimes I see one on the bridge when I go home from school. It's awesome power.

Trains are very cool!!! I have the Amtrak Acela high speed train as well as numerous freight trains near me.

You have some serious trains. Acela? How high speed? Electric? In my country we don't have electric yet.
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
Yes ... it's electric. A lot of the commuter trains are.

@blodyn: Washington DC to Boston in 3 hours... with stops. Faster then air travel
Blodyn · 22-25, F
Whoa. That is the nicest picture I ever got! Is it your station. It's like the trains they have in France. @Spokeskitty75:

Oh. Look at that train. It's awesome. I can't believe I can see something like that. Tell me where it's at.
Blodyn · 22-25, F
Station? Your station? @Spokeskitty75:

This is the Acela pulling out of 30th Street station, my station, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA
Blodyn · 22-25, F
I can't believe what I'm seeing, it's awesome. My station has one small platform. The station is called Pontarddulais. The train is one coach. Your pic looks like Reading. When I go see my grandmother. @Spokeskitty75:

@blodyn: well Philadelphia is a major US city and that is the main Station in the city. Lots of tracks. I guess the freight trains would blow your mind too!!
Blodyn · 22-25, F
Maybe. But we have lots of coal trains. @Spokeskitty75:
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
@blodyn: we have a lot of those too!! 🙂... and intermodals

Thank you so much for your pics and your comments. Your trains look so different! I never took pics to send you back. We just have diesel trains. One coach. @blodyn:
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
@blodyn: you are welcome. If you ever want to see more... just ask! 🙂
Blodyn · 22-25, F
What is intermodal? Your engine looks so powerful. @blodyn:
Blodyn · 22-25, F
Btw, I love your cat.
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
Intermodal are basically shipping containers that come off ships that are stacked two high on a special low train car.

This is a typical 4 km long intermodal train with 3 engines daisey chained together pulling this massive load

@blodyn: thanks, his name is Pippin!

Blodyn · 22-25, F
Whoa. What a pic! We don't have anything like that. We have a coal train once a week. Class 66. And five passenger trains a day. One coach!
Blodyn · 22-25, F
@Spokeskitty75: Pippin is lovely. His eyes! Blue like mine!
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
@blodyn: haha! Yep, it all depends on where you live. Sometimes 1 coach is all you need. The smallest passenger trains I see here are 4 coaches
Blodyn · 22-25, F
Do you live in Philadelphia? @Spokeskitty75:
Blodyn · 22-25, F
Sorry. I shouldn't have asked that. It's too personal. @blodyn:
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
No, that's fine, yes I do, just outside actually
