I Run Cross Country

I ran the last cross country of the year in school this morning! It was cold! Wet! And Muddy!!! I was freeezzzzing plus I was wearing a tee and some shorts which are now caked in mud!! I think I still have mud on my legs, feet, arms and in my hair ugh 😑

@MrGoodbar I do too. Fortunately it wasn't too difficult for us to skive off when we were supposed to be running cross-country.

@Sharon It’s impossible for us to skive off we have checkpoints to run through and we’re marked off.

@KatieJ We didn't have checkpoints so we were able to disappear to a friend's home for a coffee and a smoke. ;) We just had to time it right so we could rejoin the pack and get a bit muddy before returning to school.

We got caught out a few times, either getting our timing wrong, being seen or when there was an unannounced checkpoint. On those occasions, we got a slippering in the gym when we got back.

@KatieJ OUr home course had 2 loops around a lake no chance of that for us.

@MrGoodbar Ours makes a loop but it’s across school fields, up through a cow field, down a tarmac pavement and back onto the school fields.

@Sharon oh cool 😎 wish I could do that. Although I’d have chickened out in fear of the slipper. Ouch!

@KatieJ Getting the slipper was such a common event when I was at school we didn't think anything of it.
