I Battle Depression and Anxiety

Anxiety and depression are two things that need to be talked about more but simply aren't. As a sufferer of both who also has some quite drastic trust issues I live in silence struggling by myself and it's not right. I know there are people who would help me if I gave them the chance, but I can't. This is not right. If you suffer from any mental illness please if you are only going to listen to one piece of advice, don't go through it alone. There are always going to be people who will help you. I, like many people, have had family problems in the past which have helped to set off my mental issues. So if you are like me and feel you can't talk to your family about what you feel then have someone, a close friend. There are two people in this world I trust so I know what it's like to have very few people to turn to when you need it. Mental illness is like being stuck in your mind, a prisoner to your thoughts and fears. If you keep them all to yourself it will eat you up and slowly break you down until there is nothing left. Don't suffer in silence, people do care. I lived my life for so long believing I couldn't talk to anyone because I was wasting their time. I don't trust the people I know well enough to say this to them so instead I shall say it here. Anxiety and depression are not things people can just read about in a text book and know what it is like, people can never know unless they live it themselves. So for one last time. You do not have to live in silence and fear, people will help you, if it's a family memeber, a best friend, hell even someoene on here would do. Please I beg of you talk to someone. It will help.

You gave a great advise. It's true that when someone is in depression, this person neither feel like asking for help or talking to anyone.
For example, when I am in this way, I feel stuck. I neither can cry. It's like being dead.
But, as soon as I have a little strength, I try to share time with my loved people. I know they even suffer more than me in these moments.
And only listen to them, give me some kind of released.

Wish you luck!

@Zephlah: You too, my friend. I know how it is. This is why I felt so concern with your post.
I also try to do what you do, trying to give some light for others who are suffering the same or similar. I have to recognize that I can't do it as often as I would like because I myself lack this strength too.

All of this is 100% true. Thank you.

@SilverRedd: It's a very difficult concept to grasp if you haven't gone through it yourself and it's unreasonable to expect someone who hasn't to understand which is why it's rare to find someone who does especially in the real world, I can only say this because I'm sat safe behind my screen I could never say what I do in person, my mind wouldn't let me.

@Zephlah: I know that feeling. I'm a completely different person offline. If I met online friends in real life some of them would struggle to believe I'm the same person.

It's normal to be different in differenct scenarios, being with people in the real world and talking online are probably as different as they can be. So online you and real life you may be utterly different which is fine.
