Exactly. I'm very well liked in any atmosphere, but I have no friends. Only acquaintances.

Just described my high school years and any family gathering hosted by my husband’s side of the family. It was partly due to my being shy and isolating myself, but also due to the fact that I knew I wasn’t in the presence of my people. I don’t mind feeling like an outcast but I’ve noticed it’s become less of an occurrence the older I get. I either just don’t care what people think of me and am so determined to have fun that I thrust myself out there in all my dorky glory, or it’s because the immense feeling of comfort felt when I am surrounded by my people completely negates feeling like an outcast.

I think it's partly because I was bullied a lot growing up, made to feel replaceable, and being "different" caused people to reject me

Nope. I am more of a "feel guilty even though I haven't done anything really wrong", sort of person.

Those whom like me are quite regularly outcasts. Game recognizes game. 🤷♀️

Sometimes I feel like nobody can really understand me or relate to what I feel and think. It happens. Not the best feeling in the world tbh, but it also makes me realize that everybody is unique ~ including oneself.

@SW-User Nobody can understand what what I have experienced and feel unless they have been through the same experience.Well,a very few can, because they are not mind enslaved/brainwashed by the system which ....blah blah blah...is there any point?Does anyone understand me?

Everyday
oh yes

Occasionally. I think intense stress kind of reworks our wiring and makes us somewhat paranoid. There've been times I've felt shut out and alone when in reality I wasn't.

Absolutely.People may see the good in one, without recognising or understanding the truth of ones situation.

Yeah. I don’t always understand why people like me so it makes it hard to feel like I actually fit in.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
No, not if they genuinely seem to like me.
