I Love My Scottish Heritage
I Am A Mackay... I am of the Mackay Clan, and am proud of my families Scottish heritage. We came from Scotland in the 1700's and settled in Nova Scotia, where my ancestors supported the British in the war for independence.
I also have heritage in the Grant line (Ulysses S., as a matter of fact) and I believe the Ewings and the Steeles were of pure Scot heritage, but not sure if they had a clan name.
Bagpipes stir my soul and I get crazy looks when it blares from my car stereo. My grandmother taught me three things about being Scottish:
1 - Watch your money and pinch every penny for all it's worth;
2 - Haggis is traditional, but is really not that great. It is a mandatory experience for a Scot however;
3 - If anyone calls a Scottish person a Scotch, punch 'em in the mouth because Scots are people not whiskey.
