It has taken me years to change that mindset unproductive=wasted time.
We cannot be productive all the time. We are not machines. We need time to look at what surrounds us, and think about it.
There are days, however, when my mood is gloomy, everything sucks, and being productive gives me the feeling of having something in my hands. It can be a shelter too.

Butttttt we're humans and we DOOO need time to rest and recharge. We have to keep reminding ourselves that it's HEALTHY to take days off. Owning days for self care increases efficiency in the long run.

@assemblingaknob problem for me is that when I m not working I don't feel that I m taking care of myself. I m lazy, sleeping or lying on the bed for a whole day, playing game in mobile apps...even self care takes effort and could be a lot of work...I wish I could have a more positive and proactive attitude living.

then get out and about doing different things and discovering more what intrigues your attention.

@cycleman I agree with you but sometimes it s not easy to get up and out when the depressed mood is too serious.
Today I met my bf to go shopping for furniture for our new home and I no longer stayed at home being occupied with negative thoughts. So i realize it s good to have someone to meet with so that it s not that easy to skip and give up doing something.
