I can't even put into words how much this band is an integral part of who I am. I've been a loyal fan since 2007, and I still listen to their old and new stuff almost daily. They are pure talent- if you listen to their albums from beginning to end, you can hear just how much they've grown as a band and how well they've refined their sound. I've seen them live only twice, sadly. I would follow them around the world if I could, lol.
What drew me in was the story. Their albums (all except for one, The Color Before The Sun) all tell an epic scifi story. I won't write about it all here because it would take forever. But it's amazing.
I have a tattoo in the band's honor- it's a symbol called The Keywork that represents the planetary system in the story.
The lead singer Claudio Sanchez is the creator of the concept, he writes most lyrics and the music, as well as the comic books based on the band's music. Also I love him and want to play with his hair. 😍
Coheed and Cambria have never sold out, they've remained true to their sound and their concept and their fans. I will go to my grave still loving this band.

I got into them when Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness came out. My son then worked backwards from that release. We saw them live in London in 2011 my son saw them again recently. I was annoyed my health means gigs aren't a sensible option for me.
