I Have Anxiety

I have never been diagnosed with anxiety but it seems like I have some testing anxiety that makes my whole body go into defense mode. I really feel like it is not talked about a lot but it causes a lot of pain in my life. Especially now with online schooling there is no one around me to help calm me down and it feels a lot like the end of the world when it's just a simple test (doesn't help that I put a lot of pressure on myself). My body starts shaking and I go through heat/cold flashes. I even started to feel like throwing up and gagging from fear (this is a new, just recently started with the online school) and I don't know how to handle it at points.

Not sure if you're aware of some things that might help. They aren't guaranteed of course, because we all react to things differently. Anxiety can be very crippling, but I don't need to tell you that.

There are some things that I've either tried or others I've known have. Like Lemon Balm, extract of Passionflower or Valerian Root. Easy enough to find places that carry these and/or deliver. Some foods said to help are things like Turkey, Chamomile Tea, Mixed Nuts Sweet Potatoes and even Avocados. Don't really know how effective those are.

If you can find a little time to do things you enjoy, even small things around the home can also be helpful. Whether it be writing, sketching, any hobbies you've picked up or might want to start that are inexpensive (you don't need cost to add to your anxiety) or even just finding things that peak your sense of humor on YouTube or pics that you enjoy. Being able to focus on things you like or make you happy, even for a few moments can help relieve some of the tensions and negatives that hit. You need to make time for your self and your well-being. It's never a 100% cure, but anything steps that you can find to fight it will help.

I hope something I've said here can help and that you can find a way to battle through this. As I've said to others dealing with anxiety and depression, you're not alone and there are plenty of people willing to share, listen or talk if you need. Wishing you the best. Oh and remember to breathe, slow and deep. :)

@MrPerditus1 Thank you so much for taking the time to write all that out! This warmed my heart and means a lot. I find that watching funny videos before a test helps calm my mind down. The only problem with that is I feel guilty for not studying until the very last second even though I know (and multiple people have told me) that it won't help much. The worst is watching the clock count down! These tips help a lot thank you :)

@newdawnnewday I understand that thought process all to well. But it's true that if you relax your mind before a test, there's a better chance to do better overall. Stressing and pushing up to the last second won't help but make it worse, as I'm sure you know. When I went back to college, in my 40's of all times lol, before major exams, I'd head to the college library, pop in a game CD and play something like Delta Force or Doom. I'd spend all day at school, so had some time between classes. I actually did better on those days. :D One major thing to remember is, the better you take care of yourself, physically and mentally, the better the overall outcome will be of anything you're doing.

I'm glad my words helped, even if just a little and if ever you need, poke me and if I'm here I'll be glad to listen or share whatever I can to help. 🤗
I know how you feel. I was diagnosed width it as a minor.
@newdawnnewday I'm trying. I'm in anxiety medicine which helps with depression.

@DaveStevenson Yeah everyday is a new battle but the fact you are trying is half the fight. I am glad it is helping somewhat (every little bit counts)! Take care of yourself cause you deserve it.
@newdawnnewday Thanks. You too. I've sent you a friend request btw.

Meditation can help

@SW-User I've heard people say that but I could never get out of my own head for long enough to actually properly meditate
