I Have Anxiety

Sometimes I need reminding of things, like a friend told me "your anxiety only shows your bravery for dealing with reality."

It was a helpful reminder because I often tend to demonize my anxiety and think it's "wrong" for being there and there I shouldn't feel this way and have to try my best to get rid of it or to do anything to prevent it. I was scared of being scared. Instead of applying understanding to my anxiety, instead of seeing it as actually not a "wrong" but normal response to life and some of the things I am dealing with.

It's not much but just applying some understanding and compassion to my fears does help to calm me.
Of course it can be normal. Something I learned from mindfulness is that we can't control our thoughts and or feelings but we can control our actions. One of the keys is to let it flow into your mind and try to observe it from a third person perspective. Watch it float away on a cloud or being burned up on a piece of paper and feel release.
Fears help keep us alive. So look at them for the good work they do. But be in a partnership with your fear. When it tells you to be afraid that is your subconscious/unconscious asking your conscious mind for help. So help it by analyzing the situation and taking the best response you can.

So true, to be anxious is to be aware.
