Gabii00 · 22-25, F
@Goralski No, why?
Goralski · 51-55, M
@Gabii00 I thought perhaps they were talkin jive
Gabii00 · 22-25, F
Awh right, it's hard to explain they all know what's going on but I literally don't have a clue...wondering what to do? I've never had this problem before, I normally understand most thing's like 'slang' language, accents, anything that could be difficult to understand you know! But it's the topic! Topic's which I don't really get or know of really?

Echoing · 61-69, F
Nothing wrong is just watching and listening. Listen not to reply but to understand. If the understanding is hard, keep watching, listening and it will come to you what the heck they are saying. It's got to be all new and different for you. Hang in there. Enjoy the experience if possible.
Gabii00 · 22-25, F
@Echoing Thank you! But most of the topic's aren't really to do with work so I'm unsure if I need to learn about what they saying since it's not work related and a lot of their topic's are so confusing. I'm a lot younger than them but I don't think that's the problem... Maybe because I'm new to the team and they've worked as a team for a while; hopefully I'll understand them soon!
Love4All · 56-60, F
I think if it’s work related you should ask
Gabii00 · 22-25, F
@Fernie Yes, I'm the youngest...they are all older than me by 7+ years, the oldest is about 20 years older than me.
Fernie · F
@Gabii00 Well, don't feel odd about not getting everything they talk about since they've had more and different life experiences. You won't get all of it since you have no frame of reference. Have a sense of humor about it all and it'll be fine...they'll think you're adorable
Gabii00 · 22-25, F
Thank you! Hopefully they'll understand!

Always write down words you don't understand so you can google them later.
Gabii00 · 22-25, F
@4meAndyou I tried but cannot remember what was said to be honest, even if I did probably wouldn't know how to spell it...
4meAndyou · F
@Gabii00 You have a cell phone, right? Pretend you are texting DURING these conversations. It doesn't matter if you don't spell something correctly. Spell it the way it sounds, and when you google it later, google will ask you if you meant "such and such". Always say yes, and then read the definition of the word and see if it makes sense with what you remember of the conversation.
Gabii00 · 22-25, F
@4meAndyou Good idea, but I don't want to seem rude and use my phone while they are talking; also not supposed to have my phone out during work hours.
Fernie · F
I need examples of the words you don't understand
Gabii00 · 22-25, F
@Fernie I wish I knew what words they were...
They've used so many, I cannot remember any.
Fernie · F
@Gabii00 Just a suggestion. Without anyone knowing...write the words down, go home and google the definition....that's give you a bit of leverage.
Gabii00 · 22-25, F
Thank you! I'll do that thanks!
